1. About the open call
Hangar launches an open call to participate in the second iteration of the European project Iterations. The call will select two artists: one artist living in Barcelona and another artist living outside Barcelona. The selected artists will join a group of other four artists and together will develop a collaborative art project during a 15 days residency at Hangar. The residency will take place between the 31st of October and the 14th of November 2018.
Hangar offers three research and development grant for developing a project at its Interaction Lab.
Hangar in association with Curators’ Network is offering two fully funded one-month-residencies in Barcelona that will carried out from November 14th, 2016 – December 18, 2016 and from January 18th, 2017 – February 19th, 2017.
The Banc Sabadell Foundation - Hangar’s artistic research grant is addressed to predoctoral researchers who are affiliated to a Spanish university and are in the process of writing their dissertation. The programme considers candidates that are carrying out an artistic research project which requires the development of a prototype, or a phase of formalisation and production. This is done during a four month residency in Hangar.
Hangar and ilaro.org launch an open call under the frame of the European project Renewable Futures for carrying out a two months residency for developing a project under the theme Digital Crafts.
Prototyp_ome is a collaboratory composed by Hangar (Barcelona), the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB), DiYBioBarcelona, Faboratory (Barcelona) and Petchblenda (Ca la Fou, Anoia).
The open residency programme of Prototyp_ome consists of three intensive two weeks meetings among hackers, artists, makers, grassroots collectives, citizens and scientists to rethink, research and develop processes, technologies and tools for biological exploration, particularly applied to health diagnosis.
The programme MEMBRANA #2 – Residency For Artistic Interface Criticism aims to provide support to a visual artist interested in developing an artwork based on the concept of Interface Bias. The artist will develop his/her project during a eight weeks residency at Hangar (Barcelona). She/he will also be invited to participate in the ongoing investigation of the IMAGIT research group which involves contribuiting to the development of the “Critical Interface Toolbox”, an online resource for critical interface design.
Hangar, center for art research and production and the Sabadell Bank Foundation launch an open call for a grant for researchers doing their PhD in any Spanish university.
