Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design

The Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG) was opened on the 15th of April 1992. Between 1989 and 1992, Prof. Dr. Heinrich Klotz established the University and the Center for Art and Media (ZKM). This unique connection between academic, research and exhibiting institution corresponds to the new artistic and educational assignment, to apply traditional arts on media technologies and electronic manufacturing processes. Since February 2016, Prof. Dr. Siegfried Zielinski is rector at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design.
